Running Lights

I've been riding more at night lately and I've noticed that Triumph's, unlike my son's last Honda and current Yamaha, don't use the signals as running lights. This seems strange to me as they add a lot more visibile and definition to a cycle at night.

Is there a reason Triumph has made this choice?

Anyone know of any options/products out there to change this?

That is a very interesting observation and possible safety hazard no? The more lights the better! We need to find us an electrical wiz to cure this for sure.

I've been looking at these: Motolights. I think the caliper mounting looks pretty clean.

In the front I have been considering the accessory light bar, but these look like a nice alternative and, other than the exposed wires, will likley be less fugly. I wonder if it would be difficult to wire them into the stock accessory light switch that is on all of our bikes.

Now, just need an option for the back. I know the turn signal cancelling devices have running light options, but it makes no sense to mess up the stock self-canceling signals.

If i get them, I was planning on zip tying the exposed wires neatly to the break line coming off the calipers. I'll hook them to the auxillary light switch for sure.

That would make for a tidy installation.

Anyone have experience with these lights?

I'm not sure who's T-Bird this is (I think dazco uploaded this image before he got his), but I noticed the motolights on this one and got me interested in them. The ones on this Bird look like the polished steel, but they do have chrome finished ones too (I just had the chrome fork extenders installed and therefore will likely go for the chrome ones... ).

I think these running lights look nice on the TBird and the "triangular" pattern they create makes the bike more visible to other drivers.

Thanks for the picture. Nice to see them on the Bike. Now if we can just find out who owns the bike and give some input...
