Signal Cancellers

As some may know I have been waiting since mid july for my English bike to arrive in ahem mid october for delivery in er England anyway was reading the user manual today as it's of course the nearest thing to the bike I can get!

The signal canceller system comes on after 8 seconds then cancels the signal after the bike does a further 65m...has anyone had any issues with this at all? Was thinking today coming down and on ramp I signal right (ok left for you other lot who ride on the wrong side of the road!) I can think of a few long on ramps certainly on the m25 here in England where i can do 8 seconds easy then more than 65m as well....just wondering if anyone had any dodgy moments where this may have caused a problem? More to the point can you overide it by removing a fuse etc if needs be?

No ! You can turn it off yourself just as you normally would ! When they say self cancelling what they mean is they will turn themselves off IF YOU FORGET TO. So it's for safety in case you forget. And they work great too.

No , what Al means is , that dosnt seem long enough and might cancel the signal before you actually reach the junction . That might be dangerous if the signal is cancelled before you actually make the turn. like off a long exit ramp from , in your case Daz, a freeway.

Doh ! (in my best homer voice) Ok, well what i do in those situations is i just rehit the signal every 5 seconds or so. It's no problem and isn't necassary all that often. I do that most often when entering a freeway and trying to get to the center most lane.

I would like to think that if I were to push the switch a second time it'd reset the 8 sec. cycle thingy...

Leave the pork pies for now - get the sausage rolls while they're hot!

The time delay adjustment for the turn signal is located on the right grip. Simply apply downward pressure on the right grip and you will find the blinker continues over a much greater distance.

Checked it today, and just as i thought it resets itself to 8 seconds if you hit the switch again while it's blinking. I tried it several times I tried it after blinking for 2-3 seconds, then tried it after it had been blinking 5 or 6. No matter how long it's been blinking it will reset to 8 seconds every time you hit it again.
