I bought this bike a few weeks back. I will be putting the stock seat and handlebars back on. Plus a few other basic items. I had several Bonneville's back in the early '70s and have been thinking about getting another one for several years. I also have a GS 1150 that is my main touring/backroad bike. The Bonneville will be my city/canyon bike, mostly my daily rider.
Thanks, she is an '09 with less than 9,000 original Kilometers. I will be getting a center stand, tank pads, and I have ordered a set of Willy and Max bags for it. My Wolfman tank bag fits perfectly. It has too much black for me, so I will be replacing some of the black with shiny bits.
Thanks, I am looking forward to the spring. Right now she is undercover until some of my new bits come in and then I will be taking it over to my buddys heated garage and getting it ready for riding. I was out in the middle of February this year, and hope for another short winter.
I have some concern over that. But what I want is a stock looking bike. I wont be spending much time on the bike touring. It might not be an issue with short trips. My GS1150 is my touring bike. I can put 12 to 14 hour days on it, day after day. Funny thing, is that it is a stock seat that was cut down to make the bike a bit more manageable by the previous owner.
