I live in the Central Valley (Stockton) and I have a 1999 Thunderbird Sport.

I crashed the bike about about 9 years ago. Nothing major but I broke my right leg. The insurance money was spent on other things and my son got in to baseball so the bike was pushed off in to the corner. Now my son is in college so it's time to bring the TBS back to life.

My first step is to hunt for the parts that I need. I'll be scouring e-bay and the web. The list is not that long but I do want save $ where I can.

Step 2 is to find a good mechanic in NorCal to go through the bike and fix the things that are beyond my abilities.

Any leads on parts or reccomendations on mechanics would be appreciated.

There's a pretty good contingent of locals on the forum; heck, I'm just a few miles north of you myself on the river. I'm afraid I don't have much to offer in the way of parts or mechanic recommendations though.

Familiar story you've got there though. A couple years ago I wrecked my Adventurer and broke my wrist and arm. The thing is still sitting waiting on me to sort it out. In my case though it's just not been a top priority as I've got the Speedy to get my fix on.

Welcome (I was hoping tag-line was leading to: who wants to ride tomorrow since it will be over 60 F.?

Probably a little far for you (and maybe Bay Area expensive), but I like Jim at Catalyst Suspension Tuning (he's Triumph Certified) in San Carlos.

Not too far at all. I spend a lot of time in that area. My parents live in San Carlos. I will put him on the list.
