Hi
Hi,
I am a newbie to this forum but not to Triumphs.
I have had Triumph since 1981, starting with a 1976 t140v which was bought as a box of bits, and fully renovated over 6 months.
During the 80's when UK house prices were increasing per year more than most people could earn, I moved away from London and bought a 1969 Tiger 500 to commute the 80 miles round trip to work. This was a very reliable machine, clocking up 50,000 miles in 2 years.
After that, I used a works vehicle for commuting, and since money was tight, I didn't use a bike seriously until 2000 when I bought my first Hinckley, a new Speedtriple 955i, which has now done 75k miles.
I've recently bought a 2004 model 955 Daytona, but have found that the lying over the tanks is not for me, so hope to convert the handle bars to the Speedtriple type if only I could find a Triumph top yoke to match! (Triumph parts have 3 different part numbers, and it's easier to get insurance cover than if using 3rd party parts like cnc's)
