Name is Jay I just drove From Minneapolis to Milwaukee to pick up this numbers matching 1969 Triumph tr6R.

..
Ok I am going to attempt to put together a hardtail bobber I ordered a David Bird stretched hardtail just waiting for it to arrive.
I did have a question though if you can't answer it's no problem you can still say hi.
I tore the front end apart and found these.
The original owner said he had 6' over tubes. The springs are 18 3/4 inch and the aluminum ( yep there are aluminum ) spacers are 16 and 1/2 inches. I haven't broke the tubes free from the legs yet so I don't know what the tubes measure. the frame and motor are both # NC024xx. all the little parts horn, wheel are all dated late 68. the triple trees have the P handle bar mount.
I want to drop the front end height -2 under. Can I just cut the 16 and 1/2 inch Alum spacers down little by little till I can achieve the stance I want. Or should I get a new spring set. I think I am going to need to get new tubes as one of them has a slight curve. Maybe the long as# spacers has something to do with that.
