God damn. That bike looks good even with you on it.
Did you manage to take a look under the tail and figure out anything about how the optional grab rails mount?

Yes, I did. I even got a picture, but it's on the computer at home. I'll post it up tonight, but the area where the mounting holes must be is covered by the inner fender, and it will either have to be drilled, or replaced with a different fender that has some accommodations for the holes.
One of the reasons I was interested in the grab handles was to make it easier to scoot the rear wheel up closer to the wall in my garage, but the back of the bike is so light, that's easily done by grabbing the passenger peg bracket, or even the base of the license plate mount. Might need to be careful the first time I put it up on the paddock stand, I might just flip the damn thing over the front wheel.

Oh, and as if I wasn't already enough like an eight year old on Christmas morning: Mike, the gentleman I spoke to from Chesapeake Cycles in Annapolis (I've heard good things about this shop), said there would be a new Triumph dealer in NoVA (possibly Manassas) in the not too distant future.

Here's the picture of the underside. Best I can figure the mounting points are under the black bit of the under tail just aft of where the white wraps underneath.
Here's a gratuitous picture of my garage. You can sort of see the SV parked to the left of the car. It sits in a wheel chock. Above the car is my trailer. It was a bit of a task getting all that crap in there.
And yes, part of the decision to purchase that car was because it "Fit" (really bad pun intended, sorry).

Pretty much agreed on a selling price for my current bike. A friend recently totaled his SV, and is going to buy mine. He just needs to wait for the insurance check. That should make a decent down payment and get a couple of the farkles I want. As soon as I get the money in the bank, I probably take a day to go up to the dealer and put a deposit down.

Cool, and good luck!
I'm still torn between 4 bikes:
1. Street Triple R
2. Brutale 675
3. Monster 1100
4. CBX
Going to check out a nice CBX today, hope to have my decision made this week.

I am a bikeless weenie! I sold my SV today. Tomorrow, I'll deposit the check, and if I can find some time away from work this week - or Saturday at the absolute latest - I'll order the Striple R

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
It's a great bike - I'm not exactly jealous, but I do wish that my lifestyle could accommodate an St3R to park beside the CBX...

Have you placed the order yet? The Striple R will be like a light SV650 on steroids. I really enjoyed my SV, cheap, reliable and tons of after market stuff. It's hard to go wrong with one if you're on a budget. I even put a Givi 52 liter topcase on it. It looked a little funky, but sure got the job done.

I guess you're not following events as closely, now that you have a flying brick (that said with all compliments and respect). I ordered the white St3R last Friday. I should be taking delivery 23 Feb. The only bummer is that due to the probably bad weather, and the fact I don't have a ride to the shop, I will have to suffer the ultimate ignominy of trailering it off the lot and home.
White, with the belly pan, heated grips, tank pad, and paddock stand bobbins. I'm ordering the sliders from Twisted Throttle, and various other bits here and there. I already have the Union Jack sweatband for the brake reservoir, CRG Arrow mirrors, mirror hole plugs, and Tech Spec Snakeskin traction pads. Also picked up a couple of Triumph garments - 30+ years riding and 8 bikes, and this is the first brand-specific bike clothing I've ever bought.
The Kool-Aid tastes really good, so far... ;D
