Unhappy new to Forums, new to Triumph

Hi Everyone, new so be Gentle, just got a scrambler after 35 years with BMW. ready for something a little more agile (and Lighter) not used to a lack of a center stand (K100 smoke like a trouper on side stand) so my first question is "should I Get one" or would I be Better off with "paddock stand" for use at home and use the side stand when out&about?

Hi Tretty!

I have centre stands on all my road bikes... except my Triumph, and I miss having that stand! However, I have low tight pipes beneath the frame so there's no room for one. The side stand is okay most of the time fortunately, and I'll have to work on a jig for my shop lift so I can get this up in the air without crushing the pipes. You should do whatever you like best!

You may get more response to your question if you post it in the forum here that matches your specific Triumph. The guys are very helpful in each forum, but may not be on the lookout for technical questions here.

See ya
Chris

I dont really miss having a center stand; a block of wood works fine whenever I need to oil my chain.

hello post

I guess I need to post something as a way of saying hello. 50 years ago I bought my first "real" motorcycle. It was a g12 Matchless 650. So began my avocation as a motorcycle enthusiast. I still ride about five times a week.Tomorrow I plan a 50 mile ride on forest jeep trails around Silver City. It rained this p.ast week so the sand washes should be fun on my dr650. It is somewhat of a pig at 375 lbs, but I dont really go that fast anymore. I must say that I enjoy reading this forum and wish you all the best. Bill Egge
