Sooner or later, most of us have something we want to buy or want to sell, related to our bikes. In the interest of both parties in a transaction, TriumphRAT.net does not allow such posts in the regular forums, but does have a Classifieds section for this very purpose.
Works great, with only one (kind of big) drawback. Everybody visits their favorite model-specific forum regularly, but not everybody thinks to look in the Classifieds each time they visit. For a long time, the rule of thumb has been to allow one post in this forum to basically say "check the classifieds, I've got something there right now." That helps a little, but still leaves occasional mini-threads scattered around the forum. Well, some of my brother wizards--er, moderators--came up with a great idea: a sticky thread (this one, to be exact) in which to hold all the I've-got-a-classified-ad messages!
Couldn't be easier. Simply post your ad in triumphrat.net
Classifieds (
remember to include a picture with for-sale items) and then post a link to it in this sticky. Include a hyperlink or URL to your ad, and a very brief description of what you are selling;
ie, 'Rocket III luggage,' 'leather jacket,' etc. If you're not comfortable working with hyperlinks, just the brief description will be adequate for most folks to locate it in the Classifieds.
This thread will get cleared out every 2 weeks or thereabouts, so we won't have a lot of dead adverts lying about. You will need to renew your post after that time if you still have the item.
Please read these guidelines before posting:
PLEASE DO NOT POST THE AD ITSELF HERE; IT WILL GET DELETED. Just the link and/or brief description.
PLEASE DO NOT POST LINKS TO ADS ON NON WORKPLACE SAFE OR NON FAMILY FRIENDLY SITES. That will also get the post deleted.
THIS IS NOT FOR ANY COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISE. If you are making or supplying any items for financial gain, the post will get deleted. It doesn`t matter if you`ve made 10 of them in your garden shed or bought 10,000 of them from a factory in China, the same rules apply. Consult the site operators about regular advertising opportunities.
Hopefully, this will drive extra traffic toward your ad without contributing any further clutter to T-RAT.
