Slip on pipes

Question: Has anyone used the slip on tips for their exhaust? I have stock pipes on the 08 R3 which have the slip on tips and I was thinking about swapping them out for something louder. Of course before I spend the dollars I wanted to learn more about them.

So... does anyone use them? Sound? Does it require any other adjustments or mods?

I have the TORs (Triumph's Off-Road) muffers along with the catylitic converter by-pass pipe and I love the sound. They have a nice raspy bark to them without being totally obnoxious. Triumph has an engine tune for this exhaust, however, I run a Dynojet PowerCommander with their "European" map for this system and it really runs well.

The D&D slip-on was going to be my first choice before I ran across my TORs. The D&D slip-on is the least expensive way to go. D&D claims that no fuel map changes are required.

Jardine makes a whole replacement exhaust system,

and Travelguy, a member here, makes a couple of awesome custom stainless exhaust systems for the R-III as well.

I've seen some posts here about the TORs and the cat bypass. But since I live in California, I wonder if that would violate the emissions standards. The D&D slip on sounds more like what I may be interested in. What does D&D stand for?

I think I should start doing some research on that. Thanks
Karl

D&Ds won't be anymore legal in CA than the TORs with bypass.

Your best bet (if you're wanting to pass emissions) is to get the TORs or some other slip ons, Maddogs, Staintune etc and leave the cat box on.
