Rolling back the handlebars

I'd like to roll the handlebars back about an inch. I'm thinking that it will do a lot for my riding position. But while I have the allen wrench to fit the bolts, I can't get to them because of the speedo & tac. Has anyone done this? Do I really need to dismount the instruments just to do this> And if so, where the heck are the mounting fasteners for those?

There is a little plastic cover between the speedo and tack, it just pops off and two small bolts hold on the tack and speedo. No biggy.

Good advice. Thanks. I just took a look and I have roughly an inch to play with and still stay off the tank. I'm glad you mentioned it because I didn't even think about that.

Cheers

Okay so I managed to roll the handlebars back roughly an inch. Made sure that I stayed clear of hitting the tank when maxing out left and right. And even though it was only about an inch WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!! Wow!

I dig it!

I could have sworn that when I mentioned the risers to you last week, you said the handlebars were already in the perfect position for you.... Did you go out for a longer ride and get the numb arms?

LOL. That's pretty much exactly what happened.
That and there was one point, when I twisted the throttle and the torque had me almost lose my grip. Doh!

I rolled them back about an inch and wow! Huge difference. Don't think I'd want the risers though. I don't really want to add height.
