Saddlebags

So I've been shopping around and all the bags that I like (the ones that bolt on) are well over $300.00 Not to mention the Triumph bags at $800.00.

So as a sort of temporary solution I just bought a set of throw-over bags from leatherup.com

I mention this mecause I actually like these bags. So much so that I am going to focus on saving for OTHER add-ons and not worry about bolt-on bags. At least not for now.

Anyway, leatherup.com has all sorts of leather stuff; jackets, pants, chaps, gloves, bags & other luggage and a host of other things. Check them out!

My father has used leatherup.com for a few items and has been very happy with them. As for throw-over bags, I have a set of River Road throw-over bags which I attached a sheet of diamond tread on the fender side of the bags and then attached the bags to the bike using ghost-brackets. Everyone who has seen them think they look great and I can remove them in seconds. If you are vertically challenged, try the Rivco Risers as your next purchase. I only wish I had installed them sooner. It is like a different bike after I added them.

Are you talking about handlebar risers?
I actually find the position of the stock bars perfect for me. It's a natural position for me to be in and I'm not struggling to deal with the bike.

Glad to see someone taking off for the weekend...it's usually like that in a new relationship. This is also a breaking in period so be gentle with the ole girl..lol. I bought these bags a few months ago they lock on and come off like a suit case paid $440. for them threw www.newr3.com When riding around town without the bags on all that shows is a chrome bar that blends into the fender. Welcome to the club ride safe...!

Buco saddlebags from e-bay

I found these saddlebags on e-bay. They are old-time, about 25 years old. After painting I added the LED turn signals and tail lights and attached them to the bike with Easy Brackets. After resisting installing saddlebags since buying the bike a couple of years ago I am glad I found these and love the way they add to the Rocket theme.

I saw another one of your posts showing these off. Looks really sweet. I like the top case as well. Right now I'm gonna stick to the throw-over bags that I got till I can get the K-like bags.

Triumph calls it a leather tank bag, but I am not sure how much of a bag it really is. The Triumph Part Number is A9520067, and it lists for $80. There are a couple of after-market ones out there too but to me this stock one looks the best,

Hey doglanta, I already made my comment on those and was walking the new hood and came across some bags that looked just like yours on a 69' beemer. Didn't talk to the owner about them yet but I will. I went with what I had before due to the quick and easy way they come off and lock. But for Style yours are the Dog!!
