So, RoadV, you’ve gone from suggesting that “ … a huge number of problems” are self induced, to “ … many problems” are self induced. Sounds a little like back peddling to me. But hey, if I were in your shoes (I think I am in your shoes) then I too might be a little less inclined to give Triumph the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully Triumph will take care of you.

TonyD, me thinks you found the weak link in this poll. I took a quick look at some of the voters’ profiles. If they claim their favorite ride is a Bonnie, you KNOW they don’t own a Rocket.

I bet it’s closer to 50% with tranny probs.

Unfriggin Believable
Found a thread that’s been polling Rocket owners since March of 06’. The poll tracks those affected by output bearing/transmission problems. Two things make this poll different than the one here. First, it’s on a board that is strictly for Rocket owners so there’s less likelihood that other Triumph owners have voted. Second, it’s been tracking votes for over two years. Granted that doesn’t make it scientific, but it’s all we’ve got. The poll has so far tracked an amazing 25% of Rocket owners who’ve experienced output bearing and/or transmission problems.

I don’t care how well your Rocket runs, if this poll doesn’t make your blood boil then your just cold blooded.

Sorry, I am apparently not as anal as you. I will restate my opinion that "a huge number of problems are self induced". There it is, for the sake of accuracy and public record. (check my spelling and grammer while you're at it).

Triumph will do what they should to bring in the biggest cash return. I am not going to kid myself about their motives and I have no problem with that. In a way, I would prefer to do the job myself because it would allow the chance to give many concealed parts of the bike a good cleaning, not to mention the learning possibilities.

And if learning possibilities rank high on your list Davo, the Rocket is definitely the bike for you.

Oh yea … and “grammer” is spelled “g-r-a-m-m-A-r”.

Keep it coming RV cuz I can do this sh!t all day long.

Chill it!
Keep it polite, and play nice.

This thread is no longer part of the R3 forum, since it's posted on the front page, that's why I'm wading in.

Well why don't we use the moderating powers granted and move it back to the Rocket forum?

Not sure how this poll got on the main page. I posted it in the rocket science forum. It is intended for only rocket owners. I don't see it on the main page now. Was it just showing up as a recent post?

It was popping up on a sidebar on the main page. I think by default the latest polls get linked on the main page. That is why there are probably some non-Rocket owners adding results and mods from other forums here.
