Mad Dogs back on the adgenda!

After much begging pleading and grovelling I have persuaded my supplier to do another batch of Mad Dog Performance Pipes for the standard R3 and R3 Classic so we will be able to supply in about 5 or 6 weeks time.

They fell out of production earlier this year when one of the factory's key staff resigned leaving the factory owner to do all the work. Because they are quite labour intensive to manufacture the owner of the pipe business got overwhelmed at the task even though there were enough raw muffler bodies and other components sitting around on the self to do another 12 or 13 sets.

The big problem for him was the time and physical effort involved in the metal polishing process so I sent one of my guys around to his factory to complete this task so the old owner has had a change of heart.

Why consider Mad Dogs over the other brands such as Jardines, Travel Guy's pipes, Staintunes or D&D's? While I am not saying one is better than another, all are different depending on what you want in a pipe. For the uninitiated I will list the main benefits of the Doggies.

1. Tuned for max torque rather than HP. While the power increase over stock is still 17hp and the torque increase 13ft/lb, it is important to note that the max torque is produced at only 2500rpm which is smack bang in the middle of the rev band most used in day-to-day riding. This means instant top gear grunt and great usability.
2. While the Mad Dogs are approx 10dbls louder than stock, the note is mellow and not intrusive on the long rides. Other 'straight through' systems that don't use the stock cat box produce a little more top end power but at the expense of being a little TOO loud for some.
3. Looks is a personal thing but if you still want the three pipe set up but with-out the flared out look, the Mad Dogs offer a neat tucked in look.
4. Price. While will have to lift the price by $100 for this new batch of pipes, at AUD1295 the price is still very competitive especially when no extra expense for a Power Comander is required with the Mad Dogs.

nice pipes

Nice looking pipes Dave. They seem to fit the flow of the bike better than stock too!
