oil drip solved

i finally figured out what the problem was. after my last oil change i continued to have a very slow leak from around the front drain plug. thought i had over torqued it and stripped the threads or maybe i had bad washers. after trying several differant things, i examined the drain plug under a microscope and found a small crack in it. i have replaced it and now have no oil leak !

Wow... that's interesting.. Always a first for every thing I guess..

If it's not leaking oil, are you SURE it's a Triumph? Maybe you better put the old plug back in! You must have bought a Japanese "knock-off" ! I loosened my drain plug up a bit just so I could "prove" it's a Triumph! Now it leaks and we're BOTH happy! Ha! Ha!

You sound like you are talking about HD! I am happy to say I have only had two leaks on my bike. There was something loose on mine that was leaking a little bit, but tightened it and no more leak. And my progressive shocks were leaking but the dealer replaced it under warranty and no more leaks there. Both where within the first 5,000 miles I think. I have 20,000 miles on it now and still no problems.
