Hey All
Thought you may be interested in a warranty issue I am having with Triumph Australia – I bought some genuine Triumph fog lights for my R3R six months ago and within two months I noticed some surface rust on the chrome brackets when I got home from a seven day road trip (the bike got wet once during the road trip and for the rest of its life is always garaged and ridden 99% of the time in dry weather), so after a few months of deliberation, I decided to approached my regular Brisbane Northside Triumph dealership with the rusty bracket problem and they very helpfully proceeded with the warranty claim. The same day the dealership called me back and said Triumph Australia would not replace the brackets because I fitted them myself (of course they would not have rusted if the dealer fitted them). The next day Triumph Australia changed their mind and instead wanted pictures of the rest of the bike to see what condition the bike was in, consequently I haven’t decided whether or not I will do this on principal even though my bike is in top condition for its age. All I can say to Triumph is they obviously don’t want to take any responsibility for the cheap and nasty chrome job that was done on two of their genuine parts at a retail cost of under AU$100, but instead pass the blame onto one of their loyal customers, who like many of us has spent thousands of dollars on genuine Triumph parts.
Have a nice day
