how much money do i need to bring for the 500 mile service?Just wondering what everyones paying . my dealer told me 350.00 does this sound correct?

My dealer, RPM Cycles in Dallas.. a very reputable shop told me not to worry about the 500 mile service unless I just wanted to give them money. I live 500 miles from the dealer I bought my bike from by the way and 90 miles from my closest dealer to home. But Keith, the owner said they have done dozens of 500 mile services on Rocket IIIs with no need for adjustment of anything. He gave me an oil filter and, of course recommended an oil change as soon as I got home, which I did. I also followed the recommended RPM levels during that first trip...

I now am coming up on 30,000 miles on the bike with no mechanical problems to report.

Its a 350 dollar oil change, Take some of that money and buy a service manual and do it yourself. Then save that money towards rear tires..Jack

Unless you want them to do other work, like removing the AI, rejetting, pipes, etc., try doing it yourself.

It's basically an oil/filter change, maybe they will check/adjust the spokes and you can do these yourself (if you are mechanically inclined to do so).
