TuneBoy Install/Review
My tuneboy came today and I immediatly openened it up and plugged her into the bike. I got through most the install and then realized that once you make contact with the ecu on the R3 you need to email the ecu number to the vendor in order to get the software key. I was somewhat disappt at this because it said it could take up to 24hrs. I immediatly emailed newbonneville.com with the ecu number which is needed in order for me to get the key to use the software. 15 minutes later I check my inbox and the key is there! Holy snikeys that was fast!
I then disabled the 02 sensor, corrected the speedo and loaded the 20050-2 tune. Holy snikeys again! Very easy to use and everything worked perfectly. I started the bike and it sounded and smelled different! The idle was lower and smoother and that slight burble here and there is gone!
I then rode the bike (even though it's low 40's and cloudy here today) and holy snikeys again! I hit it hard in first and confirmed that this bike has MORE power! Shifted into second hard and the front wheel came up about 2 feet! This thing is pulling like a fire breathing dragon that was just neutered! BTW the popping and gurglin on decel is gone!
It is truly worth every freaking nickel! I would love to ride a stock rocket back to back with mine. It has to be a night and day difference.
Overall very happy with the tuneboy and the service at newbonneville.com.
This really is the way the rocket should have come from the factory!
