Thinking about Tuneboy...

Read enough about it on here to know it sounds dam good. One question I have is what the top speed ends up being once the restriction is taken off. My Triumph tune (for TOR pipes and bypass) allows me around 120-125 ish which I am not happy about.

What is the Rocket Classic Tourers unrestricted top speed?

The limit is whatever you set it at under the tune constants. Don't plan on doing much over 150mph. The stock Classic tune limits speed to 120mph, add in the 7% error in the speedo and it will show about 128. Find out the tune number you have loaded in the ECU now and look it up in TuneEdit. You will find that in all but the 20145 and 20138(classic) tunes power is restricted in 4th and 5th gears via the secondaries.

A while back I calculated the max speed for a Rocket based on wheel size, 5th gear ratio, max RPMs and final drive ratio and came up with 179mph.

I may have missed this in other posts but wasn't there an issue with the ECU retuning itself over time after you adjust things with a TuneBoy?

On a side note, for those in the Seattle area, I was at CycleBarn Lynnwood and they prefer tuning with (and sell) the TuneBoy according to Karl (Parts and Accessories Manager).

If you disable the O2 sensor via Tuneboy it will stay in open loop and won't trim anything. Or you can use the dynojet O2 eliminator.

You are lucky to have someone willing to tune with it. I couldn't find anyone for under $1000. I had to hook up a PCIII to get a custom fuel map on a dynojet dyno (took about an hour). I then unhooked the PCIII and loaded the PCIII map into TuneEdit.
