Last year Triumph followed up its tremendous success with the Daytona 675 supersport machine by creating a naked standard based on the Daytona called the Street Triple 675. Triumph knocked one out of the park with that brilliant little hooligan, and now in 2009, the Daytona 675 and Street Triple 675 come closer together in the form of the new Street Triple R. All of Triumph Motorcycles’ new 2009 parallel twin-engine platforms will have electronic fuel injection, stated a company press release. The upgrade affects all the Modern Classics, including the Bonneville, Bonneville T100, Scrambler and Thruxton. The America and Speedmaster, in the cruiser segment, also have the upgrade.

The fuel injectors were incorporated into the bikes by the throttle bodies, so they look like carburetors. The changeover from carburetors to electronic fuel injection is in direct response to European emissions legislation.
