Triumph Road King Pics

Some reasonable pics of the new R£ cruiser can be found at :-

http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/Ne...s/?R=EPI-93541

Sadly they have tried to make it look like a HD - nothing wrong with that except they have lost an opportunity to be original and take cruiser things in a new direction. Well, that's my opinion and I might stick with it, err, unless you know different!

Its got a single headlight, hard bags, and floorboards....those are the only similarities to a road king I can see. I don't think it looks any more like a road king than the new harley fat bob looks like a rocket just because it has two headlights. The Rocket engine and frame will always set it far apart from harleys.

Based on the pics alone I much prefer the original Rocket though, with bags and floorboards thrown on for touring. Maybe in person it has much more going for it.

I think it looks fine but I don't really see the point. The only thing really new is hard bags. What about a top trunk and a monster faring with the latest gizmos in it?

I think a regular R3 w/ Corbin Bags and fairing looks much better.

Cha-ching!

I'm with Ugarte. Still looks more like a real Rocket to me than anything else.

Not sure if I'd spend money for it--especially not yet knowing how much money--but I like it a lot better than what MCN "predicted" it would be last year.

It's starting to lose it's "unique" identity by trying to "mimick" every other "cruiser" in the world! Why? Whether you liked the "old" look or hated it, it GOT YOUR ATTENTION! Now I think it will be easily overlooked! JMHO!

Thumbs down

Boy what a mistake...! If they could see how many times people have stood around and admired my Rocket for its indivuallity they'd stick with the original. I came out of a restarunt one time and found fifteen bikers surrounding the bike taking pictures with their jaws open...! Also took it down to the Harley dealer where i get my RK sticker seeing it's closer than the Triumph dealer the whole store came running out to admire the beast. These guys are all hardcore HD riders and they all told me they where glad to see Triumph making a come back..and how great the bike looked.

I have to agree, I always get group of guys come up before I pull the helmet off and they start asking questions. For that I love my Rocket.
But Triumph needs to work on the Clothing & Accessory line. Seems like every time I want to order something it's no available any longer or something like that.

We'll send a couple of capitalistic entrepreneurs along with Kathy Lee Gifford over to the Hinckley Plant to get the ball rolling...!
