TuneBoy CD, latest version
Question...did anyone get TuneBoy Diagnostics to open and run after installing TuneBoy from the latest and current version CD? I know I am havng much difficulty and I understand that others have had trouble with this too. Supposedly, some have gotten Diagnostics to open when they downloaded and installed it from the website but I'm really not sure if anyone has gotten the CD installation to work. I'm not getting much help from Wayne on this so apparently he doesn't know what to do either. The Tuneboy Editor or "TuneEdit" program opens and runs fine so at least I have been able to download tunes. Unfortunately, I cannot do a Reset Adaptive since that can only be done in TuneBoy Diagnostics.

I had a problem with the downloaded version of TuneEdit this time around. I don't know what computer platform you are using, so this may or may not work. It worked on Windows XP home version. Go to the program icon and right click on it. This also works for a shortcut. Go down to properties. That opens a box with several tabs- go to compatibility and select Win 98. After my version was reset to Win 98, it worked fine.

I'm running Windows XP Pro and XP Media Center...yes, I'm trying to get this to run on two different computers. Like your approach, I got TuneEdit to run by doing the Windows 98 compatibility trick. Unfortunately, that didn't work for TuneBoy Diagnostics. BTW, I bought the software on CD as part of the 675 group buy. I'm not a member of Triumph675.net but I wondering if those folks are having the same problem running off the CD that I am. For some reason, getting the software off the website seems to be getting better results. Of course, I tried downloading from the website too but that didn't work either as far as getting Diagnostics to open and run. I do have Norton AV but I don't like disabling that to download and install programs and, on other software, that has not been necessary. I wouldn't think this is causing my problem but who knows.

I have not heard of any problems over there, but I don't know. I can't fully understand why the diagnostic program wouldn't work and TuneEdit would. It was the opposite for me. It must be something inside your computer that doesn't let it do whatever it does with electrons and all. Are you sure you loaded all the dlls and other bits? Probably, but it is the kind of dumb mistake I might make.

Thanks Will! As far as I can tell, yes, I have loaded all the "bits". I sent Wayne a screen shot of my TuneBoy directory and apparently everything is there. I don't think he knows how to help me at this point, at least it's very quiet from him lately. I guess it would be interesting if someone, who actually has Diagnostics running, could send me a screen shot of their TuneBoy root directory, I could compare to be sure we look the same. That would be very helpful, I would think. Thanks again-Ken B.

I downloaded the latest version and had a hard time getting it to open. After double clicking and waiting, I repeatedly double clicked about 10 times in a row and it opened.

I tried double-clicking on it about 20 times and it still didn't work. Let me ask this, does the cable have to be connected to the bike and the bike ignition turned on for the Diagnostics program to open? I know, for TuneEdit, the bike does not have to be connected for the program to open. Did you guys have to choose Windows 98 compatibility to get this to open like some others did? Thanks-Ken B.

Hey Sully--You are talking about TuneBoy Diagnostics and not TuneBoy Editor, right? I can open Editor fine but it's Diagnostics that is the problem. And yes, I had selected Windows 98 compatibility. Thanks!
