Well someone one here was dead right with their prediction of a 1600 belt driven Thunderbird.

The new 1600 twin beastie is called the Thunderbird.

Triumph has unveiled its all-new Thunderbird at the company's Global Dealer Conference in Birmingham, England. The eagerly-anticipated 1600cc cruiser is set to go on sale next year and is an important addition to the company's cruiser range.

Harley-Davidson plans to buy Italian motorcycle manufacturer

Friday July 11, 2008

Harley-Davidson Inc. has announced its intentions to purchase the MV Agusta Group, a move that shows the manufacturer’s intention to increase its European presence.

Under the agreement, Harley-Davidson will acquire 100 percent of MV Agusta Group shares for approximately 70 million euros ($109 million), which includes the satisfaction of existing bank debt for approximately 45 million euros ($70 million).
