Gas light coming on early...

I have heard that the adjustment is in the tank...is this easy to adjust. I would like mine to come on with around 1 gallon left...any input would be great.

Hi Chi,
I have a 2007 Rocket with about 1000 miles on it and the low fuel light goes on with about (from what I can guess) 2 gals of fuel left. I’m ok with this I think the fix involves going into the tank. There is a thread I’ll try to find it for you.

My understanding remains that Triumph fixed the fuel tank light on too early problem with the 05 models as a warranty item and made the fix at the factory going forward. Really didn't expect an 06 or 07 Rocket to have this problem.

Mine seems to come on with about 2.5-3.0 gallons left which I feel is way early. Most of the time it comes on around 95-110 miles...does that seem normal to you fellow rocketeers?

A bit premature. 125 miles (200 kilometers) is when it should come on, AFTER the dealer adjusted the in-tank level sensor. Dozens of pages have been posted here on this never-ending (seemingly) fuel level issue. To sum them up: the adjustment is a straightforward thing. It only takes a steady hand and a voltmeter. Best. Fuel arm

Chi,

Take it back to MCC.
Dave will adjust it for you.
I had to do the same thing when I put the fuel gauge on.
The sending unit had to be replaced due to the fact that the gauge read full when full and empty with 1.5 gallons of fuel remaining.
It was frustrating to fillup, put 80 miles on the trip and have the fuel gauge read 1/4 tank remaining then stay there until 1.5 gallons were left.
All was covered under warranty.
The gauge now reads 1/2 tank when I have about 110 miles on the trip.
The low fuel light comes on at about 150 miles, exactly when the gauge hits the red lines (1/4 tank). So it sweeps properly.
When I hit 210 miles on the trip, I'm looking for a fuel station.

fuel light

When I bought my '07 rocket classic tourer in March, the fuel light would come on around 35 miles. They fixed it under warranty, now it comes on around 130miles on the odometer. I still feel like it comes on too early. I still have about 3 gallons left or almost a 1/2 tank.
