My good friend has made fun of me since I bought the Rocket last month basically because it is a cruiser. I told him he wouldn't be laughing when I left his old Beemer in the dust. He replied that there is no way I could beat him. I'm going riding with him friday and can't wait to spank his ass just so he will have a little more respect for the rocket. His bike is fast ( i have ridden it before) but it does not feel nearly as fast as the rocket. Anyone raced one before? It is basically 130 HP 80lbs of TQ and 680 for weight. Seems like it could be close on paper but I dont want to be talking all this***** just to get beat...any predictions?

I assume with your gobs more torque you should take him off the line if you get an even start. I guess if you guys really wind it up his reduced weight might come into play.

My prediction is you beat him pretty badly though .

The advertised 0-62 mph time for the K1200RS is 3.7 sec.

Well we rumbled on friday and I was able to whoop em pretty easily from 0-100-110ish. After that I could still get em but it was a close race. I really feel like my bags and windshield hold back my top end. Once I hit 120 it feels like I start moving at a snails pace.

The bad news is he traded his bike in this weekend for an 07 Aprilia Tuono. I think this will be a much tougher race once he gets broken in...

Any predicitons on that one?

I keep reading the new one has more HP than the 03 but less of a midrange punch. With a trap of 126 in the 1/4 he should be able to whoop me up high. But he does weigh 60-70 lbs more than me...
