If you get a "couldn't connect on comm 7" or something like that, something is wrong. If you don't, then Tuneboy should open up with a dial that goes from 0-14 with 955i on it. Hit the red "sensors" button on top. This should give you a screen with 4 columns of numbers with the reset adapt button in the lower right corner.

Dougl--Well, this is a bit of a mystery. I downloaded TuneBoy from the latest CD that I had just received from TuneBoy. I installed that into the default directorires without any changes. Initially, I couldn't open TuneEdit either but I changed the compatibility mode to Windows 98 and then it opened and ran fine. Now, I can't get TuneBoy Diagnostics to open and the Windows 98 trick didn't help. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Thanks Dougl...yeah, I've already sent an e-mail to Wayne about this and I'm waiting for a reply. The Windows 98 idea came from some other folks that were having trouble opening TuneEdit and that little trick worked. I have no idea why but it worked for me too, even though I am running XP.

Oh, I thought you were running 98. I can't see any reason why Tuneboy won't run. Did you click directly on the .exe file in windows explorer?

I just tried that and it didn't work either. I sure hope Wayne gets back to me soon so I can complete this tune download. BTW, Wayne did answer another question that I asked earlier that you probably already know but I thought I would mention it anyway. Once you disable the O2 sensor in the software, the 12-minute tune is no longer operative. So, if I ever figure out how to do the reset adapt thing, I won't need to do that again. Also, I meant to ask you earlier...in TuneEdit, in the Tools drop down menu, is Reset Adaptive Settings grayed out? It is on mine so I can't reset the adapt there either. Thanks-Ken B.

I never noticed it when I was connected to the bike. I just started the TuneEdit program on my desk top and it is greyed out while other tools which require connecting are not greyed out.

So, I'm waiting now for 2 days to hear from Wayne at TuneBoy about how to get TuneBoy Diagnostics to open. Does anyone know if the Reset Adaptive can be done from TuneEdit? That program is working but, as we've found, Reset Adaptive is grayed out in the drop-down menu and will not work. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!

Tuneboy just updated the TuneEdit and TuneBoy downloads on their site. Uninstall the program, download the latest and reinstall. That's what I had to do.

Thanks Pig9r--That was worth a try but unfortunately it was no help. Strange...TuneBoy Editor opens and runs fine, as long as I run in Windows 98 compatibility mode, but TuneBoy Diagnostics won't open no matter what I do. This makes no sense and I can't seem to raise anyone at TuneBoy to help me get it going. BTW, my laptop is only a couple of years old and I'm running Windows XP. Thanks for the effort anyway. --Ken.

Did you re-install everything from v 3.4.2.zip? New USB drivers?
I found this on their FAQ's:
"I Just Installed TuneBoy And I'm Getting An Error "oleaut32.dll is out of date." What Can I Do?
Copy the oleaut32.dll from the TuneBoy directory into the windows\system32 directory and it will fix the problem, this problem is caused because the copy of oleaut32.dll on your machine is older than the version that TuneBoy requires. "
