I put synthetic in my old BMW and it made the gearbox MUCH smoother instantly...anyone tried this on the R3 yet?

I used Mobil 1 Syn for my last change. No problems. I haven't noticed any difference of before or after.

I changed mine out to amsoil synthetic last fall. I don't expect any problems with it from years of history usiing it in my wife's Yamaha.

Not to be a stickler fellas but the service manual calls for mobil 1 syn 75/90. So i'm not sure why anyone would have a non synthetic in their diff. A friend of mine also recommended the amsoil 80/90 syn.

How often do you need to change the differential oil?

Change my differential every 6 to 8k miles. Like R34ME says, oil is cheap.
