Just got back from a 1800 mile trip through Utah, arizona, and Colorado. The R111 ran like a top even though it was over 100 degrees a lot of the way. I have to tell you that Lake Powell, Bryce and Zion canyons are a must see if you get the chance. I might be a little better in the spring or fall but it is some of the best riding and scenery you will ever find.

Sounds like a blast. I just got back from a similar length trip the weekend before last, from San Antonio to Shreveport, LA, to Oklahoma City.. and back.. but it wasn't as scenic as yours.

I hit about 6 hours of rain through the trip.. lol When I reached Shreveport, it was raining over 1" per hour.. lol but the Rocket just trudged right on through. I did get to tour a good bit of Route 66 from Oklahoma City to Tulsa, and had a good time at a bike rally there.. then came back home down Hwy 281 in Texas, which is pretty nice riding..

Yours sounds like a great trip to take though..

That's my favorite part of the country to ride in. Wyoming's worth doing too. I go out that way at least once a year even though I have to ride through western Kansas and eastern Colorado to get there. With the right attitude on the right roads even those places ain't so bad
