Why not have it all at once...some need to know what time it is that way we can get home in time for the wifes curfew!

Barnyy65,

The Hardly Ableson 2000 Softtail used a guage that slides right in. You have to file some new oil level marks, but it is a conventional guage. I got a nice looking white one for about $40 from the dealer.

Why would anyone waste their money on an oil temperature gauge for the Rocket? It's a water cooled engine. This means that it operates at about 180 F (85 C.). The thermostat and fan keep it there! So your oil temperature is going to be about the same! On an air cooled Hardly, the oil temperature will tell you when the engine's too hot. On a Rocket, it won't tell you anything!

Now oil pressure. That is worth knowing on any engine!

BC-Rocket,

Why would anyone waste their money on a 2300cc motorcycle capable of 225 kilometers per hour in an nation limited to 100km/hour? That is as fast as you can go! Your speed will be the same! Regulated by the RCMP!

I want an oil pressure guage on the Rocket too, even though the oil pressure is regulated, and the Triumph engineers didn't think we needed to know. So putting on on, they thought, wouldn't tell you anything!

Come to Nelson, I'll buy you a beer, and we'll discuss oil pressure guages.
