I know this has been covered before, but I don't feel like paging through 97 pages of entries to find it so please humor and "update" me on the latest possibilities for windshields that "fit" the Rocket. Am finally seriously "considering" the purchase, but the factory version seems a bit too "pricey". I know some of you have some "itchy" finger tips, so let them rip! Thanks for any "input".

You need the factory hardware anyway to fit a custom roadster shield like Clearviewshields.com.

I saw a shield from a French company on one of these Forums - it was expensive and I don't have the link anymore.

The Windvest shields are nice. They have their own hardware which is quickly detachable. They're much smaller than standard roadster screens and work great for their size - better per square inch - but since they're narrow, you still get wind on your shoulders.

Ditto on the first posting, to my knowledge only Corbin offers an out of the box bat wing screen solution for the Rocket and it is not cheap. The Clearview replacement screen requires the Triumph hardware. You might consider the Triumph fly screen as your first purchase and then go for an after market screen. Almost positive that the fly screen is cheaper and contains the hardware you need.

You still need the Triumph fork hardware to mount the fly screen.

Unless it's changed a Clearview screen (which is just the plastic NO hardware) also requires the brackets and straps from a Roadster in order to attach to the Triumph fork mounts (i.e. fixing kit). So it's REALLY pricey unless you can find a used Roadster on eBay or something.

Anybody considering the Triumph flyscreen might also want look at what Windvest has to offer as an alternative.

I just bought a Triumph summer screen and I have to say I don't like it. Maybe I'm just used to not having a windshield. I'll likely put it inthe classifieds — if you're interested, let me know. I've had it on for about 35 miles now and find that it's making the wind a bit turbulent around face level (I'm 6-3). I understand I can neutralize that turbulence by adding lowers, but I'm not really interested...

Hey guys, thanks for all your replies. One thing I got out of it is it ain't gonna be "cheap". I'm hesitatant about a shield in the first place as I had one on my previous 96 T'Bird and didn't like the increased tubulence, noise level. Wasn't sold on a windshield because of that experience. For $500 +, I'll be content to eat a lot of bugs! They're high in protein! :hammer:

Horrible, that is my experience.

I have the winter windshield and lowers, but I can not go over 120km / h since I can not see the road, so bad it is.

I have tried different positions, different mountings, even changing the angle of the front bar and no way to make it work.

At the end I probably will sell it.
