Does anyone have the battery tender accessory wire permanently hooked up to the battery. I just bought the Gerbing heated jacket......a buddy of mine runs it off his RK battery and would like to do the same on the Rocket. My concern is reading other forums where the sensors might be effected..? Also is there a particular charger that is better or more compatible than the rest...thanks in advance Rick :???:

The sales guy recommended putting one on when he was checking off my bike as we rolled it out the door. Logically, I can't see where it would effect anything as, unless it is hooked up it essentially leads nowhere....but I'm not a mechanic and neither was my salesman. Can't say about the brand as all I have is a 30 yr. old trickle charger. I do have Gerbing gloves and it's not a problem.

I have the Battery Tender leads hooked up to the battery with the connection that goes to the Tender under the left cover. I like the Tender. It works great on my car too.

Are you asking whether it's a good idea to connect your jacket directly to the battery? I don't see why there would be a problem unless the jacket requires some power conditioning, which if it did would be in the jacket, which is just a resistor.

You can use the Battery Tender connector for the Gerbing's jacket, but you'll have to buy Gerbing's "SAE to Male Coax" adaptor first. The connection that Gerbing's products uses is different to the ones that the Battery Tender uses. The Battery Tender uses SAE and that adaptor will suit just fine. It's the bottom item on this page ---> http://www.gerbing.com/acc/accprod.html

Other than that, there should be no problem. I use this exact same set-up and have never had an issue.

Thanks guys for the reply...hooked it up and it works like a charm. Battery was alot more responsive too, after keeping the tender on . I'm beginning to wonder if this engine draws too hard the battery...?? Thanks again .......!
