After my ride today, I heard, and felt, a new noise that I know can't be good.
great ride today with no problems.
Slow speed, coming in to park the beast, about every half foot or so, a clunk goes thru what seems to be the differential.
I'm too scared to look.
Can anybody help me out here?
4,800 miles. stock, and not abused. never raced or seen redline, speed shifted or wheelied.

I think I found the problem!
The clutch adjustment locknut was loose, not allowing the clutch to disengage fully.
Probably gave up a bunch of miles in the life of the clutch, but what the hell!!

CHECK N TIGHTEN YOUR NUTS! and bolts, too.

Eep. I get that clunk as well at very low speeds. Thanks for the update on how you fixed it.

I tend to get a high pitched, electronic sounding whine happening from time to time. You know the sound the bike makes when you turn the ignition on and the needles on the dials run back and forward? Imagine that same whine when you're idling at a set of lights... Not very comforting.
