Hey I just picked up my bike last thursday and love it. I already have 400 miles on it. I was wondering what kind of gas mileage I should be getting. I realize I'm still in the break in stage but I'm only getting around 25 to 27 miles to the gallon. That seems low to me. I was wondering if that is because of the jardine pipes I had them put on or if that is just standard? :???:

My Rocket is bone stock. I got 40 mpg riding through the mountains yesterday. I think its because mountain riding typically means a slow pace (30 to 50 mph) with few stops. On the freeway I usually get about 36 to 38 mpg doing 80 mph, and in the city about 32 to 34 mpg.

Considering the size and power of the engine, the gas mileage is pretty dang good. However, the Rocket makes up for it in rear tires..

I took mine through the mountains and that's how I jumped up to 27 miles but still seemed low.

I was getting close to 40 MPG. After the PC-III and TORs/cat bypass, I'm getting about 35 MPG, but the small increase in power and awesome throttle response, not to mention the sound, are worth the trade off...
