Has anyone replaced the stock horn? If so, with what? I checked with Rivco and they say that their replacement electric horn gets mounted at the swing arm....right under the pipes!

There's got to be a better way!

Thanks,

slick

I have the Stebel horn mounted under my left side cover. Works great and is very loud. Got it from bikerhiway.com. Use code MG610611 for free shipping. hope this helps.

I just upgraded my horn situation this past weekend. I installed the "Stebel Nautilus Mini Air Horn" under my left side cover. You can hunt around on the net and find a pretty good deal on the horn. They go for around $35 - $40. I have both the stock horn and the Stebel horn wired in together. It's a beautiful thing - you will not be dissapointed. IT'S LOUD!! And the nice thing is, you can't see the horns. Everything looks stock. The trick is to use the horn relay for maximum power. On my bike, there is a little bracket with a small hole under the left side cover that is perfect for the horn relay (right next to the stock relays). PS - the horn button on the bike completes the ground. Use a volt meter to determine which of the wires on the stock horn is +, and which is neg. Run both wires back to the relay, using the neg. for the trigger. You'll have to run separate wires back to the stock horn. Hope this helps you.

I can't remember which Captain did it but I met one at Luckenbach that installed a horn from Napa I think. I am thinking he placed it on or near the engine guard.

You have to add the horn relay yourself. If you just run the power through your existing horn switch, it will burn it up quicker. By using a horn relay, all your existing horn button is doing is activating the horn relay. The horn relay is set up to supply direct battery power right to the horn(s), giving it just a little more 'juice' to the horn(s).
