I picked up my bike at the dealer with fifteen miles on it. when I got home about ten miles later and parked the bike I noticed oil driping from the left fork. Is this a common problem to have a leak on a brand new bike?

Mine too! same side at about 3000 miles, not a bad leak but enough seepage so it was visible to the eye, took it back and it was (fixed) in about 4 hours under warranty? funny thing is, I can still slightly see a small amount of residue build-up after a decent ride, and I can feel it on my finger as well, during one of my last trips back to my dealers service department, I asked them to look at it again, they did, and I was told it was normal for there to be some (very light seepage) under normal riding conditions? so I asked about the right side of the fork being bone dry? and was told that both could be normal? let me know how your experience goes please, as I'm curious about what my dealer has told me? thanks and the best of luck to you and your new rocket.

I brought it back to the dealer. The owner and the service manager both looked at the bike and said they have never had this problem on any of the triumphs they have sold. They said it was probably a bad seal and they would check to see if there was a burr on the fork to cause the seal to leak. They said they will call me tommorrow and let me know. They were going to have triumph over night the parts. I will let you know what it was.

Ok its Sat the 31st of April. I was called yesterday and told my bike was fixed. I went to pick it up today and the service manager showed me a piece of packing material that was between the fork seal and the fork. They replaced the seal and the dust skirt, filled up the fork oil and all seems ok.

Dealer said that they have never seed this before.

The dealer did a great job on a quick fix. I guess the Triump factory is a little lacking on their quality control!!!

The forks are not put together by Triumph.
They buy them in complete.
