USAA says they want to get away from motorcycle coverage. So far Progressive looks to have the best rates and coverage. Does anyone have a better option or experences ?

BIL 25000/50000. PDL 20000. 250DEDUCT.
GEICO IS BY FAR THE CHEAPEST I WILL BE RAISING MY COVERAGE NEXT TIME AROUND BUT FOR NOW PAY $196.00 PER YEAR. Sorry for shouting. Progressive in my neck of the woods wanted $695 for the exact same coverage.

Who quotes best varies with individual, location and bike. For me Progressive was cheaper than Geico, but as one post already indicated it isn't that way for everybody.

I just hope this thread doesn't turn into one of those silly debates about whether you're supporting leftwing pinkos if you buy a Progressive policy (apparently some old codger who founded the company, but no longer runs it, gives large amounts of money to the ACLU). Personally I wouldn't give the ACLU p*ss to take a pill with, but I will still buy Progressive as long as they have the best rates. All I've got to say about that.

About all you can say about insurance is that it will vary from case to case for no apparent reason, so you'll have to get quotes for yourself from several likely candidates and take your chances. In addition to ones mentioned so far, you might also try Farmers and Dairyland.

When you find one you like, try to lock it in promptly! I got a quote from GEICO that wasn't quite where I thought it ought to be, so I tried again with a higher deductible--and they wanted $400/year MORE, a mere 15 minutes after the first quote.

Tried Progressive, and it turns out I can't get their best possible rate because I've still got a VISA card from a bank I first did business with before I was 25 years old. Don't ask me...I have no idea why a stable, long-term, mutually beneficial business relationship should make me undesirable to insure! No logic there that I can discern, but if they're willing to do right by you, jump on it.

I have Dairyland and they charged me $400/yr for the Rocket. Heck, I don't pay much more than that for both the other bikes together. I've got 25000/25000 with a 500 deductible.

State Farm is reasonable on smaller CC motorcycles, especially if they insure your vehicles/home.

Nationwide has been advertising in several motorcycle magazines, which is a change for them, but I'm not sure of their rates. Until recently, they didn't want to insure motorcycles.

You think they can beat $126 a year on a Rocket? If so I'll check them out next time.
