I road a BMW R1200 RT A while back and and if i reved it up at a stop light it would twist from torque while standing still.
My gold wing gl 1800 is like a rock when i rev it up. How are the Rocket 3s when reving at a stand still?

12,000 miles on mine, wouldn't have known it was a shaft if it wasn't obvious....apart from wet damp weather..very direst instant power..all that torque....

The Rocket has minimal torque twist because the engine has a balance shaft on the right side that rotates in the opposite direction as the crank. The clutch also rotates opposite the crank.

The Rocket does have a little torque shudder but it's not a bad thing at all. Single-engine planes do the same. Unlike a Goldwing, the Rocket has not had all the visceral sensations arising from a piston engine totally neutered. OTOH, it's almost turbine smooth at speed--a far cry from some 2-wheeled paintshakers which give the rider TOO much of a good thing.

A 'wing sits there like a rock. But a Rocket rocks

Just take a test ride my friend. If reving at stop signs is your intent, make certain you do so at the last stop sign going out of town. As you are use to large bikes, I would also try a 3rd gear roll on.

I got the goldwing so my wife could ride with me in comfort but was saprized by its handling and performance, it serves me well. After the gold wing all other bikes felt small (6-4, 250 pounds) until I sat on the Rocket 3. After that I sort of lost my desire to complete my current project a Chopper Guys FXR. I hope to buy one soon but time will tell. Thanks for the info
