My new rocket w 25 miles got stuck in 1st gear. dealer took care of problem, said a spring came off of the pin it rides on and was a simple fix. No one I have talked to has ever seen this problem before. Am I really that lucky to be the onlyone?

Got 280 miles on it now, and absolutely love the bike.
Anybody else suffer this fate?

Welcome Rndtaylor!

My friend - you have a new bike a beautiful area of the country to ride and a dealer that took care of a very very infrequent problem, (the first I recall). From where I sit, you have no worries. To avoid future worries, only use the key to turn off the bike, adjust the rear shock up at least one setting and make a habit of checking tire pressure. And, the next time you wash the bike tighten every nut and bolt. And, and trust your front brakes.

You won't regret the purchase. This is an exceptional bike.

haha, not the only one that got stuck in gear.my brand new one was the same.gear lever was fitted in the wrong position.was put right by dealer.makes you wonder how they are tested at the factory.mine was faulty as i left the showroom.thought it was just a tight box so persevered with it for a few miles.also got stuck in 5th gear.not very clever as you approach a set of traffic lights on red.stop and have to get off cos you cant pull away again.

Thanks for the replies guys. I DO love the bike and have no worries about the reliability of the bike. I did my research, and tire wear was the only thing i heard on a consistent basis from owners who actually RIDE their bikes. I know my problem was a fluke, but i was wondering if it was absolutely unique, or just rare.
BTW, the dealer that fixed the bike was a dealer that I have had problems with before, and had some amazing problems with on this deal also. The dealer i bought the bike from, Southernpowersports in chattanooga, is spectacular and staffed with good hearted bikers. at any time, for any reason, I can highly recommend the guys at southern powersports because they are riders like we are, and decent people at heart.
