hello all! finally re-entered the triumph world with a new scrambler last year that I absoloutely love! Ive been drooling over a tribal blue rocket everytime I go to my local dealers but I was wondering if dealers in other areas have as many left-over rockets as mine? he has 5 leftovers including 2-2005 models. now ive bought leftover bikes before, but usually at a huge discount. my dealer has them marked down slightly. ive been watching sales on e-bay and it seems eastern us dealers have several leftovers and are having no luck meeting the sales reserve on e-bay. meanwhile a few current owners are trying to sell used rockets, with only a couple meeting reserve. I dont want to pay 14 grand for a bike thats going to depreciate 7 grand as soon as i take delivery! so I guess my question is this, anyone else notice these bikes not selling in your area? anyone see a great deal on any?...

I've seen some older ones on Ebay go for less than 10K. I paid 12,500 for mine as a demo.. At the time the MSRP was $15,900. With only 123 miles on it, it was new enough for me!

I LOVE the Blue colored one, that is what pushed me over the edge into buying one, but I got a black one instead.. I will get it painted the way I want one of these days..

I think the Rocket is more of a nitch market bike than Triumph had planned on. I LOVE mine and have 19,000 trouble-free miles on it this past year. I'm not worried about depreciation, as I don't intend on selling anytime in the near future anyway.

I will sell you my gray 05 with about 2300 miles on it for $10,700. It has a small dent in the tank where the bars got pinned to it in my barn.
Thanks,
Phatdad

Maybe so but the gray ones absorb the radar so the cops can't determine speed.
Back to the subject, there is a dealer in Texas selling R3's for cheap money. I will try and get the website for you.

Check on this web site...Nation wide search is best. Use key word 'Rocket III'.

The eastern dealers must have a deal with ebay to advertise cheap if they'd even bother given the weather there lately. Even here in the midwest where it's not quite so bad motorcycle want ads have dwindled down to practically zilch.

Sounds like that dealer may have over-ordered Rockets, but don't expect them to sell for a song unless the manufacturer puts some unseen incentives behind them. They'd rather wait 'til spring and try to sell/swap with some dealer having better luck moving them than sell at a loss retail.

Here I haven't seen many leftover Rockets at the dealers I've been to but I don't think they order all that many. Since it's not a v-twin knockoff of a Harley it's not going to be a "volume" cruiser.
