Sorry if this post is not in the correct forum

Anyway, I am shopping for a new helmet - to go with my new R-3 Classic.

What does everyone wear and what brand? There is a budzillion out there and on E-Bay

Your suggestions are appreciated

1st...............I have seen all types on this bike......from skidlid to full face & none at all...........one of the great things about this bike is.........you can dress either sportbike euro look...........or go the cruiser look.............I wear a full face helmet..............last run this weekend was a speedo pegger............and I dont want to scratch my pretty face. :-D

My advice.............wear whatever you WILL wear...........but WEAR IT!!

Lid threads are about the only thing that get a wider variety of opinions than oil threads--at least in oil threads you don't have mental midgets claiming "none at all" is the safest way to go :-D

I wear a Snell-certified HJC on the Rocket (can't recall the exact model unless I go fish it out of the cabinet in the garage) however the reason I picked it over the "budzillion" out there is totally subjective: it happens to come in a color that matches Triumph Cardinal Red.

I usually wear a DOT approved open face helmet, I have a roadster screen which keeps most of the wind out of my face. I recently bought a Scorpion EXO200. It is DOT and Snell approved and has a removable face shield for when the weather is warm.
It's a s close to a Full-Face Helmet as i can take.

HJC model AC-12 Carbon. Meets all the safety criteria, good pricing, and it goes perfect with my '06 Graphite Rocket!!

Just make sure you try it on in person before you purchase one. What feels comfortable and fits well on one head might not on another.

I personally use a Shoei RF-1000 (full face) in white. Doesn't match anything but hopefully sticks out to motorists.

I was impressed with the fit and upholstery of the Nolan Helmets. Of particular interest was the 3/4 and flip helmets. These particular helmets are available to be fitted with the N-COM system. Pretty slick deal. All the electrics are made to fit with no wires....bluetooth....or maybe a wire or two if you choose to have it. You can listen to music, answer your phone, and talk to a passenger with NO WIRES!

Crash Tested a Nolan Flip....Helmet worked and I walked away from 8000k damage to my BMW (my Joe Rocket Ballastic jacket took a pounding as well from the impact/slide). I got a new Nolan the next day. Great helments and the flips allow you to have the best of both worlds. Cruising along taking my time in the back country...I ride with it up....interstate...just flip it closed and go for it.
