Just ordered a Stebel Nautilas horn for the Rocket, but can't find a place to mount it. If anybody has put one on their bike please let me know where. Pictures will be helpful. Thanks in advance for your replys.

I've got a Stebel horn on both my Rocket and my Bonneville. It doesn't fit perfectly on either, but it works great. Even the most distracted, mobile-phone and kid-laden cager gets woken up by it.

On the Rocket, I took off the existing plastic horn cover, and bolted the Stebel exactly where the existing horn was placed. The relay is placed behind the horn at the moment with some cable ties. I'm making a couple of extender brackets to allow the original plastic horn cover to stay on the bike, and cover the Stebel. I'll see what that looks like, then make my mind up.

However, the Stebel is staying on somewhere. Necessary safety item in Boston....

Sorry - I don't have pictures. My bike's at the dealer with a bad clutch. Be happy to answer any questions tho...

Yea I also was looking to install where the original horn is but like you I want the chrome cover over it. Now I'm looking to put it behind one of the side covers. If I get some time off from work I'll give a shot.

I mounted mine just behind the radiator on the left hand side , it tucks in there nicely . It's supported by a vertical flat steel bar from the horn mount to the engine mount bolt at the lower edge of the radiator .The relay is with the other ones behind the left side panel .I left the original horn in the circuit so they both go together . Hope this helps.

Hi Upton,
How and where did you fit it on your Bonneville?

139 dB. Do a google search and you will find hundreds of vendors that carry them.

You can also go to bikerhiway.com and get the Stebel Nautilus horn for 34.95 and get free shipping. Use coupon code MG610611. Just got mine the other day but have not installed it yet. 139 dbs

On the Bonneville, I put it straight onto the existing horn bracket. This is a *bad* (stupid?) idea. When the forks reach the limits of the suspension, it presses against the mudguard. Mine now has a small dent in it...the horn works fine, but it's not the best solution.

I'm going to look for another place this weekend sometime. Let me know if you find one. I don't want to hide it anywhere, and the Stebel is very sensitive to vertical orientation so it kind of limits the possibilities....

cheers - Dave.
