The latest I heard officially was, "minor updates to the R3 for 07". Ok, thats great news.........what were the minor updates??????????? I don't consider new paint schemes as a update, so what gives. Where are any of the 500 employees with answers. Is anyone on this forum buddies with any Triumph employees, any one here a Triumph employee?
I read plenty about the continuing saga over idle issues and the dreaded cam gear paint ball rattle. I see a post just posted, about the loud noise coming from front of engine and lots of other R3 owners are asking for an answer as soon as a remedy is discovered. It seems as if Triumph would have a "support" section in their web site geared towards helping owners with a FAQ section.
There isn't anything more aggravating in this world than owning something for months and then some strange noise comes up and you take it to the shop and Mr. Triumph20YrMechanic tells you "Oh they all do that, don't worry so much". AAARRRGGG. Well someone on here with the paint-ball rattle had his engine "shoot its wad" so to speak. I'm the dumb owner and Mr.TriumphMechanic works on them day and night, so how can I possibly argue with a pro?
So this all leads back to my main question, If Triumph engineers realize they have a part that was undersized and is failing inside a engine, any engine......and they actually make a production line change with a better or more heavy-duty part, where do we get this important info??

Be logical. If there was an errant part rattling around this engine, how long do you think it would take to tear itself apart? How many of these engines with so-called rattles have stopped working because of it? After how many thousands of miles of rattling?

I'll give you that! If a part inside an engine was failing to the point of making loud noise, I'm sure it would not last long. Signs of metal pieces in oil when changed.
I just want to know what those "minor" changes were for '07 R3?

The changes will likely appear as footnotes in the 2007 motorcycle press evaluations of the new model.

Y'know... I had the can rattle noise and the idle problem. And all the advice I received here was "give it time and the probs will go away." I had to do a 12-minute idle adjustment, and put some miles on the bike. And now I don't have any noises or idling problems whatsoever.

Shoot, I've done two Iron Butts within a week of each other, and the bike performs like a champ!

Be safe.
