Has anyone installed the Fog Light Kit that Triumph offers.
I'm considering purchasing this accessory and installing it myself.
Looking for tips, tricks and satisfaction.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I just installed mine 3 weeks ago. Nothing especially difficult at all. The directions are quite accurate. As always, take out the directions ahead of time so you can study them. Once you start take your time.

Thank you for the reply.
Are the lights worth the + $280.00?

Do they combat the low-beam shortcomings by adding adequate lighting?

I got mine for a lot less as my dealer gave me a "blowout" price . I think they are well worth it though as they increase the field of view in my opinion quite well.

Luke, I second vonbonds opinion.
The dealer fitted mine with the heated grips as the "whole" package on the accessory switch and they do illuminate the surrounds well.
They also have the added benefit of making you much more visible, even in bright sunny conditions where I have turned them on to my riding companions 100 meters away and they could clearly see me coming.
Image what they could do for you in wet, dark and foggy conditions.
They don't look to bad either!

I'll add my two sense.... they are fog lamps and really do well with a dispersed wide beam pattern much like all fog lamps and add width and more illumination to the ground directly in front of you.......and I like the increase field of night vision for sure....... but if you want to see FURTHER down the road .....this isn't the product.

I upgraded my stock headlamp bulbs to PIAA halogen bulbs and this was a major improvement to the low beam situation. The combination of the upgrade and the fogs are killer!

They work especially well. They really light up a wide area directly in front of you on both sides. I run mine during the daytime for extra visibility. The guys I ride with tell me they can see me coming with no problem. They are small, but pack a big punch.

Thank you all who have responded.
Great info!

One more question:
Does this kit come with a manual switch that is mounted on the handlebar or are the lights constantly on?

I'm hoping for the latter.
I have the fuel gauge and clock accessories already.
Plus I have a GPS mounted on the bar.
It might be a little cluttered with a switch added to the mix.

The kit comes with a handle bar switch box and is cheapy looking in my opinion.... and no indication of the lights being on to the rider per se.

So, go and get either an illuminuated switch as a replacement (there are alot of great functional good looking (with led indicators) switches that you can easily mount in the hole. Or there is enough room next to the switch to put a separate light on.

The "box" that the switch mounts in is right up there on the handlebar. There's a fairly large handle on the switch. "Up" is "On", "Down" if "Off". How much more indication do you need?

You are right, the box looks crappy, especially if you only have one switch in it. (It's made to take both the light and the heated grip switches.) I added a second switch and put some red LED's under the tank, shining on the top of the engine and exhaust pipes. Useful when the bike is parked at night!

I agree that the fog lights do a good job of supplementing the poor low beam headlights and greatly improve daytime visibility, so are a worthwhile accessory!
