This is a R3 question. I would like to know if anyone has installed the dyno jet power commander. Did you see a significant difference in power, speed anything.
The other question I had was if anyone has used a track to check the time and top end of the R3. I was wondering exactly what the top end might be. Thank you lee

Tons of posts on the PowerCommander. Play with the search function for a bit to see if you can get what you need. The long and short of it is if you install a PCIII and get it setup by a dyno center you will notice the difference. Your mileage may vary as far as improved HP and Torque.

Brother, you are NOT allowed to squeeze any more power out of your Rocket without a note from home! :-D

What's the best milage anyone's gotten out of a Rocket? I know it's a question I should not ask, because with an engine that big it's gotta eat something.

I think people with unmodified stock Rockets get the best mileage. I have heard 35-40mpg depending on the right wrist.

Before I installed the TORs/cat delete and Power Commander I was getting over 39 MPG.. Now I average 35 MPG.. But the power comes on so much smoother, no popping on decel, and you can hear the motor run!..

Makes sense. The stock tune is lean so you must have added gas.

Where I live is about half highway half street. I've never gotten more than 34 mpg. With my Tuneboy dyno TOR/cat bypass tune, I get 32-33. After riding around downtown Reno during Street Vibrations, I got 30.

you seem to gain about 5 hp and lose about 5 mpg. (miles per gallon)

LEE.. I had a Power Commander on with the Staintune pipes and had the bike tuned on the Dyno. I ended getting 142Hp at the Rear Wheel and around 150Nm torque (stock it was reading around 125Hp @RW), and a better throttle response but beware that when you put your bike in for a service the dealer will automatically throw a new or updated tune on the bike which will throw all this out the window. MAKE SURE IF YOU GO THIS TRACK YOU ASK THEM TO LEAVE THE TUNE ON THE BIKE THAT IT WAS DYNOED WITH!!

Eventually i went with Tuneboy and had the PCIII removed. I got even better figures and a better ignition map as well as the secondaries opened fully in all the gears including 1st and 2nd.

Hope this helps.

I have been averaging about 35-40 depending what kind of riding I have been doing. I went to new jersey and did as well as 40 mph. the problem comes into play when you feather the throttle. I can not help every once in a while to see how much she has. Lee :-D
