Hi all,
I am looking at purchasing a R3. I have had a ’02 S3. My concern is my small size.
I am 1650mm in height with a 710mm inseam and weigh 65kg.

Are there any people out there riding these bikes that have similar heights? And, is there any way in lowering the bike 1 inch?

Regards
Craig

You can get the Triumph "LowRider" gel seat... 1" lower rear shocks and you may also raise the fork tubes in the triple clamps 1" to match the lowered rear end..

I'm sure RidinSunshine, with her short self, will pipe in on this one. She has not problem and handles the bike great!

The seat height is about 27" so you'd better sit on one to try it out. I don't see why your weight should be a problem. Chicks ride big Hardleys.

Height's all right. No problem. OEM LowRider seat reportedly OK but I would not advocate shorter shocks. IMO they just disturb the bike's geometry and further limit cornering clearance, which is not abundant in the first place.

Advice is: RIDE THE THING "AS IS". You'll feel 2000 mm tall when you do

Best. Jamie

Yep just about any production cruiser can be ridden by any normal-size adult. Those with shorter legs and/or a bit less upper body strength just have to be more careful if they don't want to be dropping it all the time. The Buell Ulysses--now that's a bike the shorter-legged among us had best forget about.

Thanks guys.
Haven’t been able to sit on one as yet. Hopefully I’ll be able to test ride one soon from my motorbike shop.

Do these bikes feel heavy? E.g., when you pull up to a set of lights on a sideway sloping ground and the bike is being held up by one leg.

Regards
Craig

It depends how far over it has to lean. It has a very low center of gravity so it takes little force to hold it up if it's almost straight up. However, there's a point that many of us are familiar with after which it falls over.

The back tire is so wide that sometimes when stopping at a light, you don't have to put your feet down - at least for a couple of seconds.
