Geeesh Bigern, you must'ave bin mad. One can only speculate in horror at the unmentionable words deleted by the bad-language-police so as to avoid embarrasing our delicate sensibilities! I'm glad you were able to get this off your chest and I certainly hope you feel better mate! Like you, I would be pretty spewed off if my beloved Rocket lunched itself too. Cheer up mate, Davo

Condolenses to you Bigern. What ever the problem was. My Honey Bear probably voiced some of similar language. I just was lucky not to hear it. But probably would have been geared at the dealer's mechanic and the factor. But thanks to Tomo's posts I am hoping he will be ok and not hurt someone. ha ha He is not necessarily having the idle problem people are talking about. He is experiencing surges.

I just looked at your pictures from another thread. Ouch! Hope we don't have to do that on any of our bikes. Looks too complicated my little head. But of course my Honey Bear is a very good mechanic if he has to. Allthough, I would probably have to pay someone to fix my bike. Wouldn't want him to have the headache.

Thanks Sunshine for the thoughts. Actually when i began this mission, i was quite excited about the experience and knowledge i would gain. The headache was caused by my own misattention to a small detail, and turned into a migraine by the lack of Factory support. Things are looking up do to the support of the Members of this Forum. Bigern

Hey bigern, does your last statement mean you have found a replacement cap for the Rocket? Hope so. Then it will only take about 4 or 5 minutes to reassemble the works, right? And your back at the launch site awaiting a "GO" from mission control.

I've got some possible leads on some crash damaged engines that i maybe able to get a used cap from. Also the machine shop that repaired (welded) my original cap said on the phone the other day that it welded up very nicely and looks great. I have yet to see it. The machineist says he just needs to do a little more hone work on the inside of the cap where it touches the outer bearing. This guy is a perfectionist. Thank God! Bigern
P>S> I'll post photos of the repair when i recieve the part.
