Has anyone tried rebuilding or changing the shock to increase damping or change the existing shock springs to progressive type spings etc....

For small boats, they'd make a better than average anchor. If you own a gas station, you can hook one to the Men's Room key so it doesn't get stolen. It would make a pretty cool lamp base. You could wear it on a gold chain if you go to a hip hop house party.

Did you try changing the pre-load? Mine was on the stiffest setting and I changed it to the middle setting (3).
