I was wondering if the corbin bags had a quick release or if they had to be unbolted everytime you wanted to remove them?

The Corbin bags are attached with two nuts along the fender rail and a bolt that attaches to a bracket off of the passenger peg bolt.

Not TOO hard to remove, but there are bags that are much quicker to remove such as Leatherlykes.

Still.. I have Corbins and seldom remove them other than for cleaning. They blend into the bike's lines so well and are very functional as well.

Dope;

I too have the Corbin Beetle Bags and they are great. One could fashion a large butterfly self locking type nut to them for semi quick removal, but I bet I could beat you with my miniture ratchet and socket set.

It might take me 5 minutes to take the bags off.. not counting the junk I forget is in there from the last trip.

Since I commute about 40 miles 1 way to work each day.. the bags get their use. Working in a Corporate environment, I come sliding in on the rocket wearing a tie, doo rag and cowboy boots. I slide out the suite coat neatly tucked into the saddle bag, grab my small, flexible brief case from the other saddle bag.. and off I go..

Oh.. OH... I do remove the doo rag before entering the building though..

I changed the cap nuts for wing nuts. 2 largish plastic with steel nut insert for the top ones and one small for the bottom. I also changed the attachment bolt at the bottom for a bolt that goes through the support bracket from underneath - that way you see a bolt head for the small wingnut to attach to. Lock washers on all three. You remove the bag by pulling the top off the top bolts and then lifting the bag off the bottom bolt.

It takes literally 15 seconds to remove each bag and about 30 seconds to reinstall as you have to line up the bolt heads.

It's a head piece that I personally wear under my helmet to help keep the moisture from my head-transferring to the helmet. Here in the US, some riders just wear the Doo Rag itself to keep the wind down from their hair being blown about. And protect those BALD heads from sun damage.
Here is a good example of a doo Rag..... http:// sparklingearth.com/details.asp?sku=203-1001
