Hello everyone I have'nt posted in a year or so. I test rode a Rocket III in Sturgis last year and have been hooked ever since. I've sold my Boss Hoss and I'm going to be looking for a good deal on a Rocket III. My question is, were there any recalls or troubles with any of the 2005's I should watch for?
Thanks a lot,
George

For 2005 Rockets the only recall was the one for the final drive unit...

Triumph Recall Note - Final Drive Unit

For 2006 bikes there is something about the handlebar clamps but nothing serious as far as I can remember.

looks like some o' the handlebars on the 2006 were not torqued down tight on the 2006s, so if you went over a bump and had a lot of weight on the bars, they could inch down, causing gas tankus bumpus at the next tight turn. Easy fix, no big deal, just tighten the bolts or have the dealer do it/check it before or after the sale.

Also, looks like they are having some issue with a spring in the transmission on the 2006, but it is not a recall, just a weak spring, I will try to get some more info on this, I just heard about it from my dealer, not sure what this spring does yet.

Have fun with your new bike! I love mine!

My Rocket is an'06. I had received a notice from Triumph to take the bike back to the dealer to have the handlebar mounts retorqued. And so far that has been the only problem I have had.

Mine tends to form small puddles of drool on the sidewalk next to where I park it. Triumph won't do anything about this problem so you just have to watch out for them

There is a turbo charged 2005 RIII on ebay? Does anyone know anything about this bike. I think it has been listed before.
Thanks,
George
