I use a 512MB iPod Shuffle around the neck with a good set of in-ear bud headphones. This works extremely well. Normal charge is about 10 hours of playing. My uncle copied this for his Sturgis trip and loved it. Light, easy to use, no display to stop you from keeping your eyes on the road, but gives you the tunes for those long rides. Good luck

I have 8 GB on mine, half is filled with 105 albums.

Even though they're my albums, I'm not sure I'd want to listen to all of them. On a long ride, I'd be a captive to randomness.

I used an ipod shuffle plugged into my J&M CB/Intercom system on my trip this summer. Worked and sounded great. I would then change tunes at night on my laptop, so the next day I could listen to all new stuff.

My friend had a sony mp3 player with about 50 albums worth of music, he was happy too. Sony uses a technology that allows you to really cram on the number of songs for the same amount of memory. SO, if you are going to be gone for a long ride, and you will not have access to a computer to make changes mid-ride, you may want to consider the sony flavor. He could fit many more songs on his player than I could on my ipod even though they were the same size in memory.

I have an IPod Mini mounted on my handle bars so that it's sitting securely in my line of sight.

I make use of my radar detector mount and a liberal amount of velcro to secure it.

You can use earbuds, or any other intercom system. I have a Chatterbox and it works fine.

Jeez, if I had a telescope mounted in front of it, I might be able to see it.

How do you guys do this? I bought an mp3 player about a year ago and hevent been able to use it since. Tried it in a couple helmets and with 3 different sets of ear buds and headphones but i was never ablr to hear it above around 30mph due to wind and bike noise. In fact, at full volume which at home would be enough to hurt my ears i couldn't tell if it was on at 50 mph ! After realizing that after maybe 2/3 of full volume it would probably be damaging to my hearing, i can't imagine any way to hear it at sat 1/2 volume or so. What do you guys do to make this work?
